Louis Vuitton to show its Voyager Show in China in April – Louis Vuitton

In future, the luxury brand stressed, it has decided to rename its destination catwalk events as “Louis Vuitton Voyager Shows.” With this debut the Voyager show is to be held on April 18, 2024, at the Long Museum West Bund in Shanghai, China.

“The Louis Vuitton Voyager Show signifies an embracing of the Maison’s spirit of travel to showcase off-season collections in exceptional and inspiring locations around the world,” the Paris-based brand said in a release.

The house has been on something of a full-court press in China. Last month, the house’s menswear creative director Pharrell Williams staged his second show for Vuitton in Hong Kong, with local stars packing out his front row. Actors Zhu Yilong and Chow Yun-fat were joined by three members of the Cantopop band Mirror and the rapper Tyson Yoshi at the November 30 event.

Playing on the theme of celestial stars, a light show at the finale projected the Vuitton monogram in twinkling lights across the city’s harbor. The collection, unveiled along the Avenue of the Stars, a hall of fame-style strip on the K11 Victoria Dockside also featured the handprints of Asian stars and actors.

Next April’s newly entitled concept show in Shanghai is intended to encompass Vuitton’s Men’s and Women’s Pre-fall and Cruise shows going forward.

In effect, this Voyager Show for Women’s Pre-fall 2024 collection by Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s creative director of women’s collections, will mark the next chapter in a longstanding relationship between Louis Vuitton and China, dating back to the opening of the brand’s first local store in 1992 at the Peninsula Hotel, Beijing.

The collection will be showcased at the Long Museum West Bund, the largest private museum in China, built and designed by local billionaire Liu Yiqian and his wife Wang Wei.

Previously, Vuitton showed its last pre-fall collection at Jamsugyo Bridge in Seoul. The upcoming women’s pre-fall collection will be available in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide, starting May 17, 2024.
