Apparel brand Shivanii has expanded its gender neutral clothing offering and aims to celebrate underrepresented gender identities. The label recently launched its new ready-to-wear collection and campaign with a diverse array of models.
“Gender-fluid fashion will gain greater traction in India as several retailers, media houses and e-tailors react to changing consumer attitudes towards gender, propelled by Gen-Z,” said Shivanii’s founder Shivani Parikh in a press release. “People of all ages in all markets are constructing their own identities more freely than ever. It’s a statement of freedom, an expression of authenticity that transcends societal norms. Style knows no gender, and in the language of fashion, every garment becomes a canvas for self-discovery. Our collections are truly agender, with androgynous silhouettes, neutral colour palettes, inclusive sizes and diversity in campaigns as a broader movement to accept diversity. The brand recently launched its winter festive collection in a bold colour palette of black and red. Mixing tailored pieces with sheer mesh and more fluid drapes, the collection plays with sporty and formal garments for a modern, conceptual aesthetic.
Istituto Marangoni Milano graduate Shivani Parikh launched Shivanii with the aim of redefining the Indian fashion industry’s norms with regards to gender and aesthetics. The brand retails from its direct to customer e-commerce store and its garments are priced in the mid- to premium segment of the market.
