The Body Shop India has joined forces with its long-time fair trade partner Teddy Exports to offer shoppers in the country bespoke, recycled cotton gift pouches to fill with winter goods for festive gifting.
“At Teddy Exports, we are immensely proud to have worked with The Body Shop for over 35 years,” said Teddy Exports’ operations coordinator Tara Murphy in a press release. “Our artisans work diligently to produce these recycled cotton gift pouches that hold the essence of festive joy. Together with The Body Shop, we are not just crafting pouches, we are crafting a brighter, more hopeful future for all.”
Teddy exports employs over 600 individuals and is committed to paying a fair wage, according to the organisation. The pouches made by Teddy Exports’ employees are designed to tell their story and highlight the need for ethnical consumption. The Body Shop India has also created a film to complement its ‘Spark A Change’ campaign which shows a group of women crafting the festive gifting pouches.
“As we share this video with the world, we want you to feel the heartbeat of The Body Shop,” said The Body Shop’s vice president of marketing, e-commerce, and product for Asia South Harmeet Singh. “’Spark A Change’ is an emotional and inspiring journey for us. It’s about the connections we make, the lives we touch, and the positive change we help create together.”
