Meesho’s CXO of business resigns to pursue entrepreneurship

E-commerce platform Meesho’s CXO of business Utkrishta Kumar has resigned from his position to pursue launching his own venture. Meesho has rejigged its team and appointed its CXO for growth Megha Agarwal to take over Kumar’s role and its senior director for growth Nilesh Gupta as GM for user growth.

“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Utkrishta Kumar who has decided to move on to pursue his entrepreneurship dream after a successful five-year stint with Meesho,” said a spokesperson for Meesho, ET Retail reported. “He has been instrumental in shaping Meesho’s business and has played a key role in our success over the years.”
 
Meesho, which is backed by Japanese business SoftBank, stated that Kumar has been a key figure in leading its revenue growth and category expansion. Kumar joined Meesho in 2018 as its vice president for business and has seen it evolve from social commerce to a large-scale e-commerce business. 

“As we extend our best wishes for his future endeavours, we welcome Megha Agarwal as CXO business and Nilesh Gupta as GM user growth,” said Meesho’s spokesperson. “With a strong leadership team, we will continue our mission of democratising internet commerce for everyone.”
 
This year, Meesho announced that it has turned profitable. The business also announced in August that its revenue has grown by 54% over the past year, the Economic Times reported.
