Japanese beauty brand Shiseido will open its first brick-and-mortar store in India in partnership with its India distributor Baccarose Perfumes and Beauty Products Private Limited. The store opens on October 18 in Mumbai’s Inorbit Mall in Malad.
Shiseido has also named Tamannaah Bhatia as its first brand ambassador for the Indian market, India Retailing reported. To celebrate the store launch, beauty retailer Parcos has launched a contest to enable a Mumbai resident to meet Bhatia at Inorbit Mall, the business announced on Facebook.
“With the appointment of Tamannaah and expanding our presence in the market with the opening of our first brand Shiseido store in Mumbai, we are looking forward to bringing Indian beauty enthusiasts on an exciting journey ahead with the brand,” said Shiseido’s Asia Pacific vice president of fragrance and cosmetics Nicolas Baudonnet, India Retailing reported.
Shiseido retails both beauty and skincare in 62 retail outlets across India. The brand aims to reach a total of 75 multi-brand retail outlets by the end of the year while continuing to simultaneously expand its India e-commerce presence.
“Shiseido’s commitment to innovation, quality, and celebrating individuality resonates with me on a personal level,” said Bhatia about her new association. “I believe that beauty is not just about external appearance, but also about feeling confident and empowered in your own skin.”
