Grasim Industries’ textile business Grasim Textiles plans to open between 100 and 120 stores in India in the coming two years. The business sees a significant growth opportunity in the textiles market and expects to witness an increase in customer demand for textile products this autumn festive season.
“We are optimistic about the growth story of India,” Grasim Textiles’ CEO of domestic textiles Satyaki Ghosh told the Press Trust of India in an interview. “Over the next two years, we plan to open 100 to 120 Linen Club retail stores in smaller cities and towns.”
Grasim Textiles has a current total of 217 brand stores spread across India. By focusing on smaller towns and cities for its next phase of retail expansion, the business aims to tap into the growing demand for organised and branded fashion and textiles in non-metro areas.
Grasim Textiles recently opened a Linen Club store in Kolkata to bolster its presence in West Bengal, ET Bureau reported. The brand is also currently present in approximately 8,500 multi-brand retail outlets and Grasim Textiles plans to expand this to reach a total of 12,000. Grasim Industries Limited is a flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and is headquartered in Mumbai.
