Luxury traditional wear brand Torani has opened a new flagship store in New Delhi to retail its opulent and nostalgic occasion wear. The exclusive brand outlet is Torani’s second store in the capital to date and is located in Khan Market, measuring approximately 900 square feet.
“Khan Market is the most expensive retail space in South East Asia, and so, the per square feet area is really limited in each of the current stores present there,” Karan Torani told Elle India. “We opened our first brick and mortar space in 2020- right before the pandemic which was around 450 square feet. And this one is exactly the double of that in terms of size and scale. We needed a larger area to express the brand’s many divisions in terms of clothing, jewellery and accessory categories. Our first store in Delhi will slowly transition into a prêt and everyday luxury category, while this one will become more festive and celebration wear.”
The interior of the new store is more flamboyant to represent the designer’s evolving aesthetic. Textile wall hangings highlight the importance of handicrafts in Torani’s designs and mannequins with animal heads add a touch of whimsy to the space.
Torani launched as a womenswear brand in 2018 and stepped into both menswear and children’s wear in 2019. The brand opened its first flagship store in New Delhi in 2020 and reopened its flagship store with an all-new design and collection in 2021.
