“Fashion Design Council of India honoured seven couturiers at the third FDCI Couture Hall of Fame, marking their remarkable journey and recognising their contributions to Indian couture through their unique and revolutionary creations,” announced the FDCI on Facebook on August 4. “The evening brought together the Indian fashion industry under one roof in resplendent white settings, as we raised a toast in an ode to beauty and design.”

At the event, designers Rahul and Divya Mishra were thanked for bringing Indian couture to a global audience through a recent showcase at Paris Haute Couture Week in France followed on by closing India Couture Week on Wednesday. The award was presented by India Couture Week title sponsor Hyundai’s COO Tarun Garg and Reliance Brands Limited’s Jaspreet Chandok.

Husband and wife design duo Falguni and Shane Peacock were felicitated for their contributions to fashion and inaugural show at the fashion week. Other designers who received honours at the event included Gaurav Gupta, Anju Modi, Varun Bahl, Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra, and Amit Aggarwal.

The event’s décor was designed by Geisha Rose and Ambika Anand led the evening as emcee. The ceremony took place just after India Couture Week, which ran in New Delhi from July 25 to August 2 and saw 16 designers and brands present their latest couture collections on the runway.
