Sportswear and sports goods brand Decathlon has expanded in Andhra Pradesh and opened a new store in Rajahmundry. Located in Prakasam Nagar, the exclusive brand outlet measures 4,000 square feet.
“It’s our pleasure to announce the new store launch of Decathlon in Rajahmundry,” said real estate finance business Mandate & Beyond Advisory Private Limited’s managing director Biswajit Patnaik, India Retailing reported. The new Decathlon store offers a buyback scheme for numerous products as with some of its other stores.
At the end of June, Decathlon launched a business-to-business e-commerce website in India. The new website offers over 6,000 sportswear and sports equipment products relating to 60 different sports to its business-to-business partners across the country to make its distribution process easier.
Decathlon first entered the Indian market to open a store in Bengaluru in 2009, according to the business’ Facebook page. The business goal for the future is to be able to operate in India as a multi-brand retailer, which is how it operates in numerous other countries. To this end, the business held talks with the Indian government in March this year to ask for permission to retail products from other brands in its brick-and-mortar stores in the country.
