For Mishra’s latest Paris couture offering, the eponymous designer presented a more sleek and futuristic collection with androgynous cuts and a celestial aesthetic. The collection celebrated the artisans who crafted the looks and each piece averaged around 3,000 hours of craftsmanship, Emirates Woman reported. Notable looks in the collection included a silver and sheer cape worn over a metallic body suit, long tailored coats, and a purple sculptural dress with feather-esque details.

Tanishq took the occasion to unveil its collection of rare diamonds and coloured gemstones for the first time in Paris, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. The collection is inspired by Rajasthan’s palaces and cityscape and, as with Mishra’s couture designs, was crafted in celebration of the artisans who made it.

“This collection marks another milestone in Tanishq’s journey to become the preferred jeweller for the connoisseur who is well-travelled and seeking to add to her repertoire,” said Tanishq’s general manager of marketing Ranjani Krishnaswamy, the GJEPC reported. “‘Tales of Mystique’ and Rahul Mishra’s ‘We, The People’ share the same ethos of redefining Indian fashion by combining intricate craftsmanship with contemporary silhouettes. Our muse is the modern Indian woman, with her expansive choices in jewellery, curiosity in chic vintage, and innate taste in art.”

Bollywood celebrity Diana Penty attended the show and sat in the front row wearing a couture corset by Rahul Mishra, embellished with 3D gold fish, appliqués, and waterfalls of beading. Penty paired the opulent corset with a pair of blue jeans to present Mishra’s work in a more wearable light, Vogue India reported.
