GJEPC invites Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister to inaugurate IIJS Premiere

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council sent a delegation to invite Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to inaugurate the upcoming edition of the India International Jewellery Show’s ‘Premiere’ event. The trade show is scheduled to take place in Mumbai this August.

The GJEPC’s chairman Vipul Shah, vice chairman Kirit Bhansali, and executive director Sabyasachi Ray held a meeting with Fadnavis to formally invite him to open its largest ever edition of IIJS Premiere, the GJEPC reported on its website. Fadnavis accepted the GJEPC’s invitation and will lead the trade show’s inauguration ceremony at the Bombay Exhibition Centre on August 4.
 
IIJS Premiere will run from August 3 to 7 at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre and from August 4 to 8 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. Held across two locations, the trade show is designed to be be world’s second-biggest gem and jewellery exhibition, according to the GJEPC. 

The trade show will showcase jewellery and related products from over 1,850 Indian businesses and will feature 3,250 stalls. The GJEPC expects the 39th edition of IIJS Premiere to draw a crowd of over 40,000 trade visitors from 800 Indian cities and 80 countries worldwide. The trade show’s timing is designed to generate momentum for both domestic and international jewellery trade ahead of the upcoming wedding and festive seasons.
