Whoop, a wearable fitness and health technology company will officially enter the Indian market by partnering with e-commerce giant Flipkart.
Whoop wearables will launch in India during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale event at a price of Rs 29,990 ($350) that includes a 12-month subscription.
Jagjeet Harode, vice president electronics at Flipkart in a statement said, “This collaboration reinforces Flipkart’s commitment to making premium technology accessible across India, from major metros to tier-2 cities, empowering every consumer to optimize their health journey.”
Radha Bennett, vice president of business development at Whoop added, “With a 1.4 billion population India’s vibrant and rapidly growing fitness community presents an incredible opportunity for Whoop to make a meaningful impact. By collaborating with Flipkart, we are excited to bring our world-class wearable technology to a new audience, enabling members to track and improve their health with the most accurate data available.”
The Boston-based Whoop devices can be worn smartwatch-style via the Whoop Band and also be inserted into apparel pieces with the Whoop Body range.
