Welspun Living names Naiyya Saggi as independent director

Home textiles business Welspun Living has named Naiyya Saggi as an independent director. Saggi’s first term in her new role is set at four years and she brings 16 years of experience and startup credentials to the business.

“I believe my experience in consumer-focused industries, bringing in a robust digital DNA in brand building and my passion for sustainable, inclusive growth with profit and purpose align perfectly with Welspun’s values,” said Naiyya Saggi about her appointment, the Economic Times reported. “I look forward to collaborating with the board and management team to drive strategic initiatives and create value for all stakeholders.”
 
Saggi is a member of the National Taskforce for Regulatory Issues at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade at the Ministry of Commerce. She is also an elected governing council member of Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai which is made up of 50 founders of unicorn and ‘soonicorn’ businesses. Saggi founded the mother and baby focused personal care brand BabyChakra and is also a co-founder of beauty and media business Good Glamm Group, according to her Linkedin page.
 
“Naiyya’s strategic insights, particularly gleaned from her B2C [business to customer] and e-commerce experience align seamlessly with our vision for propelling Welspun Living’s B2C growth trajectory,” said Welspun Living’s CEO Dipali Goenka, ET Retail reported. “With AI [artificial intelligence] and ML [machine learning] disrupting the space, the importance of digital takes centre stage. Naiyya’s deep understanding of the digital landscape and consumer behaviour will help us leverage the power of technology and innovation to create delightful experiences for our customers.”
