Banarasi couture brand Warp ‘n Weft has partnered with fashion brand World of Asra to launch a collaborative women’s occasion wear collection titled ‘Aadhyavi’ and designed to blend heritage craft techniques with modern aesthetics.
The partnership aims to tap into the unexplored potential of using Indian heritage textiles to render avant-garde designs, the brand announced in a press release. The collaborative collection highlights the rich hues and intricate patterns of Banarasi weaves while reimagining them into youthful, playful mini dresses featuring corset, frill, and halter-neck details, and tailored trench coats.
The brands have shot a campaign to complement the collection featuring a group of seven women, chosen for their inspiring work in the creative and entrepreneurial fields. The Tribe India’s co-founder Anushka Nandani Sawhney, wedding and luxury editor Nupur Sarvaiya, Altair’s founder Janki Desai, neuropsychologist and psychotherapist Jasdeep Mago Jethni, Three Entertainment’s co-founder Saanya Sharma, Happy In The Head’s creative head Avani Yashwin, and Look What Happened’s founder and creative director Adhunika Singh each donned a look from the collection to present in their own way for the campaign.
The new collection retails from Warp ‘n Weft and World of Asra’s respective flagship stores this festive season. Warp ‘n Weft has a 27 year history and its boutique is located at Marine Lines in Mumbai.
