As the Olympic Games approach, initiatives are multiplying, particularly around LVMH, the premium partner of the event, which will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. On July 25, the day before the opening ceremony, Vogue is organising a big party at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, with a host of stars, including sportsmen and women, artists and musicians, and the luxury giant’s management team.
In attendance will be the boss of the world’s number 1 luxury goods company, Bernard Arnault; Brian Roberts, CEO of American media conglomerate Comcast NBCUniversal; pop star Pharrell Williams, who also helms Louis Vuitton’s men’s collections; and Anna Wintour, global editorial director of Vogue and Condé Nast editorial content, who have joined forces to host an exceptional “Prélude” evening’, announced the fashion magazine.
Other celebrities expected to appear in Frank Gehry‘s impressive building in the Bois de Boulogne include former tennis champion Serena Williams, singer Rosalía, American actress Charlize Theron and French actor Omar Sy.
“I’m honoured to be co-hosting this very special event with Anna Wintour, Mr Arnault and Brian Roberts,” said Pharrell Williams in a statement. “The Olympic Games are a celebration of diversity, humanity and creativity, everything that brings us together as human beings. This great event is a humbling reminder that what brings us together is stronger than what divides us,” he continued.
The evening is already shaping up to be a memorable one “with an Olympic-themed theme park, featuring interactive installations and games of all kinds inspired by sport, such as table tennis, table football, archery and basketball, devised by Pharrell Williams,” reports Vogue, adding that the cuisine will be provided by Michelin-starred chef Jean Imbert.
The luxury group is thus continuing to make its mark on the Olympic media scene. According to a survey by media monitoring specialist Onclusive, quoted by the website The Media Leader, LVMH stood out as one of the most frequently mentioned sponsors of the Games between April and May.
