US presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis has been involved in a car crash.
The Florida governor, who is running for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, was involved in an accident in Tennessee on Tuesday but is uninjured, his spokesperson said.
“This morning, the governor was in a car accident while traveling to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee,” the spokesperson, Bryan Griffin, said.
“He and his team are uninjured.”
Mr DeSantis, 44, is considered former President Donald Trump’s main challenger in the Republican contest.
He had been scheduled to hold events in central and eastern Tennessee on Tuesday.
Mr DeSantis has been trailing Mr Trump in the race to be Republican nominee, with 51% of people in a poll last month saying the ex-president was their first choice and only 22% choosing his younger rival.
