Tata Group business Trent Limited has launched its value fashion brand Zudio in Dubai in Dubai Silicon Central Mall. The brand’s brick-and-mortar pilot is designed to tap into the area’s demand for fashion and its Indian diaspora population.
“Absolutely delighted to welcome Zudio to Dubai and join with Mr Noel Tata, managing director of Tata International, to inaugurate the first international store at Dubai Silicon Central Mall,” announced Lulu Group International’s executive director Ashraf Ali MA on Facebook. “Here’s to a new chapter in fashion retailing.”
The store launch was both Zudio’s first in Dubai and first outside of India. The new Zudio store houses trend inspired apparel and accessories for men and women.
“It’s a baby step and we are doing a pilot with one store,” said a senior executive close to the development at Trent, ET Bureau reported. “Depending on the response we get, we will open more stores in newer geographies.”
Trent Limited’s average store size for Zudio is between 7,000 and 10,000 square feet. In June this year, the business counted 559 Zudio stores and also operates 228 Westside fashion stores and 36 stores for its other lifestyle retail brands. Trent launched Zudio over seven years ago to bring value apparel to young Indians.
