The Indian Garage Co opens first Kerala store in Kochi

Men’s apparel brand The Indian Garage Co has launched its first brick-and-mortar store in the state of Kerala. Located in Kochi’s Lulu Mall, the exclusive brand outlet also houses the business’ womenswear brand FreeHand and plus size label HardSoda.

“We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our third store at the iconic Lulu Mall, Kochi, marking our first step into Kerala,” announced The Indian Garage Co on Linkedin, sharing images of the outlet’s inauguration. “This milestone represents more than just a store launch, it’s a celebration of our journey to bring fast fashion forward across India… what truly made the day special was you, the incredible community that showed up with enthusiasm and energy, making this launch a celebration to remember. Your excitement and support have set the perfect tone for our Kerala journey.”

The brand thanked a number of executives at Lulu Mall Kochi’s owner Lulu Group including Lulu Group India’s director of shopping malls Shibu Philips, Lulu Malls India’s general manager Reema Reji, and Lulu Malls Kochi’s general manager Vishnu R Nath. By launching in the mall, the brand aims to expand brand visibility and tap into the shopping centre’s high levels of footfall. 

The Indian Garage Co plans to continue its retail partnership with mall operator Lulu Group for continued brick-and-mortar expansion. “This is just the beginning,” announced the label. “We’re excited to grow our partnership with Lulu Malls India and look forward to bringing more The Indian Garage Co stores to cities across India.”

Launched by entrepreneur Anant Tanted in 2012, The Indian Garage Co opened its first brick-and-mortar store in October 2024, India Retailing reported. The label plans to open up to 100 stores across India in the coming three to five years.
