The Amethyst Room to launch Eka pop-up in Chennai

From February 6 to 9, multi-brand Indian fashion boutique The Amethyst Room will hold a pop-up event for womenswear brand Eka. The shopping event will offer Eka’s sustainable and handcrafted clothing at discounted prices to Chennai’s shoppers in the city’s Puram neighbourhood.

The showcase its titled ‘Letting go is never easy, but sharing is’ and features garments from a range of the brand’s past collections, The Amethyst Room announced in a press release. All garments in the pop-up will be priced at under Rs 10,000 and will include embroidered shift dresses and loose, fusion style separates. 

“Bringing out all the goodies from past seasons to share with you the joy of well-made things,” announced The Amethyst Room in a press release. “They are happier when it is a part of your wardrobe and not just a part of their season’s stock. With the promise of superior quality and value in sustainable, handcrafted Indian design.”

Fashion designer Rina Singh hails from North India and launched Eka after studying fashion in the UK. Singh works with her husband Sandeep Dua, who works as Eka’s managing director, and the label was a runner up for the Woolmark International Prize in 2016. 

The Amethyst Room is located on Chamiers Road and houses a multi-brand selection of clothing and accessories by Indian designers, curated by the store’s founder Kiran Rao, according to its website. Rao opened the first incarnation of Amethyst in the year 2000 in a restored haveli and the boutique now counts three locations in Chennai.
