RP Sanjiv Goenka Group’s retail business Spencer’s Retail has launched in the fast growing quick commerce market with its new service named ‘Jiffy,’ which has debuted in Kolkata.
“Instant solution to all your last-minute needs is here,” announced Spencer’s Retail on Facebook. “Say hello to Jiffy. Groceries, snacks, personal care, aur bhi bohot kuch – delivered in no time. Download the Jiffy app now… Why wait for glowing skin when you can have it in a Jiffy? Skip the aisles, skip the hassle, and get your skincare routine delivered right at your doorstep.”
After debuting in Kolkata, Spencer’s Retail plans to expand Jiffy to other locations in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. As Spencer’s Retail counts 89 stores in these two states, the business will utilise its existing retail network to roll out its quick commerce operations.
“We aim to fulfil orders within 20 to 30 minutes by utilising our existing stores,” said Spencer’s Retail’s chairman Shashwat Goenka, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. The business does not plan to use dark stores for its quick commerce logistics network as many companies in the sector do but instead plans to work with a third-party fleet operator.
In the third quarter of the 2025 financial year, the business saw its net loss drop to Rs 47.34 crore, down from Rs 51.2 crore a year prior. Spencer’s Retail did however close a number of stores recently which contributed to a 21% year on year revenue decline in the December quarter.
