Must read

The Sky News Breakfast programme has a fresh new look and will start earlier from Monday 15 January.

Live from 6am every weekday presenter Gareth Barlow will be joined by political correspondent Mhari Aurora with news from around the world and Westminster.

They will stay in the studio for Breakfast with Kay Burley from 7am-10am while Burley conducts the morning’s biggest interviews.

Wilfred Frost will also join Sky News Breakfast with previews of the day’s news agenda live from the main newsroom.

The Breakfast team will join Anna Jones for Breakfast every Friday-Sunday, while Jacquie Beltrao will deliver the sports headlines every weekend.

Barlow joins Sky News after 10 years working with the BBC, where he worked across various TV and radio programmes including the BBC News channel, BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio 2.

With a heritage for breaking news, eyewitness reporting and in-depth analysis, Sky News has won the RTS News Channel of the Year award for six years in a row.

It is available for free and connects with one in three people in the UK and millions around the world every month via TV, the website or app.

David Rhodes, executive chairman for Sky News Group, said: “We’re really pleased to present Breakfast earlier each morning – and delighted to welcome Gareth Barlow to our team.

“From a new Westminster newsroom now – and a new studio in the coming months – Kay Burley, Gareth Barlow, Mhari Aurora and Wilfred Frost will bring the whole range of Sky News to audiences each morning.”

Burley said: “Breakfast is becoming even brighter here on Sky News.

“I’m excited to be presenting from a new state-of-the-art studio – and to be joined by a great new line-up.

“Gareth, Mhari and Wilfred will be with me, each bringing their unique brand of first-rate, quality journalism.

“It’ll be the best breakfast show in the business. Join us.”

Frost said: “Sky News is the home for news across all platforms in the UK – but in my view, at breakfast, television remains the best place to digest your news.

“And I can’t wait to be involved in delivering the news that matters to viewers and voters in a fun and friendly way with Kay and the team each day.”

The new look Breakfast will air Monday-Thursday, 6am- 10am from Monday 15 January and is available to watch for free on Sky News – Freeview 233, Sky 501, Virgin 603, BT 313, YouTube and the Sky News website and app.
