100% vegetarian fast moving consumer goods business Simpli Namdhari’s has launched a ‘Vocal for Local’ retail initiative to create a platform to support local micro, small, and medium sized businesses.
“We are deeply connected to Karnataka and committed to fostering its diverse entrepreneurial spirit,” said Namdhari Group’s CEO Gurmukh Roopra, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. “This initiative aligns with our mission to uplift local brands, offering them a pathway to growth that otherwise would be out of reach. By nurturing grassroots innovation, we are championing these brands and the community and economy they represent.”
As part of the initiative, Simpli Namdhari’s will select five FMCG brands each quarter to feature in its brick-and-mortar stores. The business will focus on bootstrapped brands in Karnataka and help them to increase brand visibility by providing them with in-store shelf space and options to enable the public to sample their goods.
The aim is to bring the brands to wider consumer demographics without the businesses themselves incurring high fees. The initiative is also designed to help create employment opportunities and foster community links.
“Supporting local businesses has a ripple effect on the community,” said Roopra. “Every purchase boosts our local economy, creates jobs, and keeps money circulating within the region.”
