Multi-brand fashion and beauty business Shoppers Stop saw both its profits before tax and profits after tax increase by 37% year on year in the third quarter of the 2025 financial year (on generally accepted accounting principles).
“We ended Q3 with a fairly positive note and the growth trajectory of the business heading in the right direction,” said Shoppers Stop Limited’s managing director and CEO Kavindra Mishra in a press release. “We have delivered healthy volume-led revenue growth of 9% and LFL growth of 4%, despite higher inflation and decline in consumer spending. We had taken number of initiatives during the quarter such as ‘India Weds with Shoppers Stop,’ ‘Gifts of Love,’ ‘Winter Magic Campaign’ and ‘ShowStoppers,’ ‘Singles Day’ in beauty, etc. These initiatives led to increase in premiumisation, and our premium categories contributed 64% of our total revenue.”
The business opened 16 brick-and-mortar outlets during the third quarter, with one new department store, nine Intune stores, and six beauty stores. Shoppers Stop’s profits after tax stood at Rs 49 crore in the third quarter of the 2025 financial year compared to Rs 35 crore a year prior.
“We have improved every KPI’s during the quarter,” said Mishra. “Our strategic focus is to make private brands profitable. I am extremely pleased to say that private brands generated healthy margin growth, driven by lower markdown and obsolescence. The beauty category continues to grow, sales grew +3%, led by a fragrance +14%. Our flagship store at Inorbit Malad, Mumbai, has been fully renovated and is now operational, featuring premium product offerings and enhanced customer experiences.”
Shoppers Stop’s First Citizen loyalty program members contributed 83% to the business’ sales and its Premium Black Card members contributed 17% during the third quarter of the 2025 fiscal. Keen to continue expansion in the fourth quarter, Shoppers Stop plans to open six department stores and 26 Intune stores.
