Multi-brand fashion and lifestyle retail chain Shoppers Stop had appointed Jiten Mahendra as its new chief marketing and communications officer. The business’ current marketing officer Shwetal Basu will leave the role on September 30, after which Mahendra will assume the position.
Jiten Mahendra will take on the helm of Shoppers Stop’s marketing strategy, according to new regulatory filings made by the business on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Basu decided to leave the role to pursue other career opportunities after working for Shoppers Stop since November 2021, India Retailing reported.
Mahendra has over two decades of experience in fashion, fast moving consumer goods, and retail among other sectors, according to his Linkedin profile. The Bengaluru-based executive has worked for businesses including Ample and Landmark Group and his tagline reads “building omni-channel business”. Mahendra’s qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Mumbai University.
Shoppers Stop has also launched a range of promotions and collections for the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, the business announced on Facebook. This year, the festival takes place on August 19 and Shoppers Stop is offering discounts on goods such as perfumes, watches, and jewellery and promoting them as gift ideas for the festival.
