Direct to customer ethnic wear brand Shobitam has opened its first brick-and-mortar ‘experience store’ in Bengaluru. The store houses a wide range of sarees and traditional occasion wear and was inaugurated with actress and global brand ambassador Vidya Balan.
“I am truly happy to be a part of Shobitam’s new store launch,” said Vidya Balan in a press release. “I have seen their journey and have been part of it, so it’s a joyous and emotional moment for me to see the fruits of their labour grow so beautifully. Aparna and Ambika’s dedication to preserving India’s rich textile heritage while blending it with modern designs is something that I deeply admire. As a saree connoisseur, I will always say, If It’s a saree, It’s a Shobitam, timeless elegance for saree lovers across the world.”
The store has an ivory interior, decorated with dark wood accents, golden rails, and traditional paintings. Shoppers can browse Shobitam’s selection of vibrant womenswear, take part in personalised styling consultations, and avail exclusive in-store offers as the label aims to create an interactive environment.Â
“Our first experience store represents a major milestone for Shobitam as we transition from a successful online platform to our omni-channel physical presence,” said Shobitam’s CEO and co-founder Aparna Thyagarajan. “This expansion allows our beloved customers and those who love ethnic wear to fully immerse in our brand, know our journey, know about the making of the products that forms the very ethos of our country’s timeless heritage. We are really excited and we welcome the ardent residents of Bengaluru and beyond to come to Shobitam where every saree tells a story and highlights the timelessness of our textile heritage infused with intricate design work.”
