Royal Enfield festival showcases sustainable fashion in New Delhi (#1685030)

Multinational motorcycle and lifestyle business Royal Enfield has launched ‘Journeying Across the Himalayas’ in New Delhi. The fashion, art, and cultural event is designed to celebrate crafts and communities and runs until December 15 at the metro’s Travancore Palace.

Over 200 creative practitioners, and artists are taking part in the event, which focuses on textiles, crafts, and culinary culture, the business announced in a press release. The immersive event features a showcase of fashion collections by different Himalayan communities including an exhibition titled ‘Risha’ which explores the weaving traditions of the Tripura community with Tilla’s Aratrik Dev Varman and Jisha Unnikrishnan.
 
Royal Enfield has teamed up with over 50 communities and more than 100 partners to hold the event. With participation from over 150 opinion leaders, Journeying Across the Himalayas also explores the disciplines of poetry, film, architecture, and photography among others. Workshops include wool spinning, upcycled toy making, circularity, and tapestry weaving among others.
 
The event also features participation from Indian fashion, home, and lifestyle retailer Good Earth. “At Good Earth, we believe in honouring the heritage of the Indian subcontinent by celebrating the stories, crafts, and cultures that shape our world,” announced the business about its participation in the event on Facebook.
