A Robbie Williams fan has died in hospital after suffering a fall at his concert in Sydney.

The woman, who was in her 70s, was treated for head injuries and taken to hospital after falling over at the Allianz Stadium on the opening night of Williams‘ Australian XXV tour last Thursday.

She died on Monday, St. Vincent’s Hospital confirmed.

A spokesperson from New South Wales Ambulance said: “About 10.30pm Thursday November 16, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Driver Avenue, Paddington.

“Paramedics treated a woman in her 70s for head injuries before transporting her to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition.”

Williams is yet to comment on the death.

After the tour opener, he shared a video on Instagram with the caption: “I’m very lucky to be loved as much as I am *by my audience*.

“But Sydney was the most I think I’ve ever received. I’ll store it in my heart for the bumpy nights.”

Sky News has contacted representatives for Williams and Venues NSW for comment.

It follows the death of a 23-year-old fan at a Taylor Swift concert.

Ana Clara Benevides Machado was attending the Eras tour in Rio de Janeiro on Friday when she fell ill as temperatures inside the stadium reached up to 60C, according to local media.

Concert organisers Time4Fun said Ms Benevides Machado was taken to hospital, where she died an hour later.

Writing on Instagram after learning of the incident shortly before taking to the stage, Swift wrote on Instagram: “I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show.

“I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this.”

Swift added she would not be addressing the incident on stage because she was “overwhelmed by grief”.

She postponed her Saturday night show due to “extreme temperatures”.
