Ras Luxury Skincare has raised $5 million (Rs 43 crore) in a series A funding round led by Unilever’s investment arm, Unilever Ventures.
Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund, Sixth Sense Ventures and other angel investors also participated in the funding round.
The company will utilise the funds on retail expansion, talent acquisition, research & development, product diversification, marketing and technology enhancement.
Commenting on the funding, Shubhika Jain, founder CEO of Ras Luxury Skincare in a statement said, “With this funding, we aim to accelerate our vision of becoming India’s top luxury skincare brand while making strides toward a global presence. We remain committed to building a sustainable, high-quality business rooted in strong fundamentals, profitability, and innovation.”
Pawan Chaturvedi, head at Unilever Ventures Asia added, “We believe that over the next 5-7 years, the premium beauty market in India will witness significant growth, and Ras, with its distinct value proposition, is well poised to capture this opportunity.”
Founded in 2017 by Shubhika Jain, Suramya Jain and Sangeeta Jain, Ras started on a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model selling skincare products and oils on marketplaces. It plans to open 100 new stores across India over the next four years.
