Must read

The Princess of Wales will host a Christmas carol service from Westminster Abbey this year.

The service will be a “moment to thank all those who work to support babies, young children and families”. A new image of Kate has been released to mark the occasion.

Supported by the Royal Foundation, the event aims to “bring people together at Christmas time”.

Traditional and modern elements will be combined in the service which will encompass “people of all faiths and none”.

The star-studded line-up includes a special duet from Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert.

Westminster Abbey’s world-renowned choir will perform some of the nation’s favourite carols.

Among those giving readings during the service are the Prince of Wales, Emma Willis, Roman Kemp and Jim Broadbent.

The service will be given a festive backdrop in the form of sustainable, eco-friendly decorations at Westminster Abbey.

Guests will include people who work in early years and those who may have had a challenging year or might find the winter period difficult.
