Aneeth Arora’s fashion brand Péro has collaborated with the cartoon world of ‘Barbapapa’ for its autumn/ winter 2024 collection ‘Hullabaloove’. The collection brings the bright, abstract Barbapapa characters to life on whimsical garments for men and women.

“Péro welcome [sic] you to the world of Barbapapa,” announced the brand on Facebook, debuting the collection. “With all its chaos and abundance of loove, [sic] this world is now yours… Isn’t it fun to be with the friends you always wanted to be with? Shapeshifting their way onto our garments to bring us joy and a whole lotta loove are our dearest friend, Barbapapa and his family.”

The collection features different characters from the Barbapapa world which adorn oversized jackets and coats as tactile appliqués. The characters’ signature cartoon eyes pop up on hats and other accessories to add a playful touch to Péro’s intricately made garments.

‘Barbapapa’ was first created by Annette Tison and Talus Taylor as a children’s book in 1970. The concept was then made into a television series which ran in multiple countries and followed the adventures of the Barbapapa family.

Aneeth Arora launched Péro in 2008 and the name means ‘to wear’ in the Marwari language. The brand retails across India as well in a wide range of countries worldwide through online and offline multi-brand stores including Vestiaire Collective, The Cross, and Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop among others.
