Oriflame plans to onboard 1 million India partners in five years

Swedish beauty and personal care business has named India as one of its main priority global markets and aims to onboard one million partners in the coming five years to promote micro entrepreneurship in line with the Government of India’s focus on employment generation.

“Oriflame is committed to promoting the entrepreneurial spirit,” said the business in a statement, the Press Trust of India reported. “By enabling individuals to become brand partners, the brand instils entrepreneurial ethics and empowers the workforce, especially women.”
 
The business plans to promote startup culture and promote employment opportunities to women in particular to foster self reliance. Oriflame is also expanding its research and development operations in India to develop products specifically for the country’s consumers.
 
“Oriflame products sold in India are mostly produced locally, in our factories, creating not only employment opportunities but also contributing to the nation’s economic growth,” said Oriflame’s senior vice president and head of business in India and Indonesia Edyta Kurek, India Retailing reported. “Our plan to transform one million brand partners into micro-entrepreneurs in the next five years demonstrates our dedication to this vibrant market and we’re in it for the long haul.”
 
Oriflame was established in 1967 in Sweden, according to its website. Today, the business is based in Switzerland and retails across the globe.
