Japanese footwear and lifestyle brand Onitsuka Tiger has launched its 11th brick-and-mortar store in India in Dehradun. Located in the city’s recently opened Mall of Dehradun, the store measures 1,800 square feet.
“I am thrilled to join an athleisure brand like Onitsuka Tiger for the launch of their debut store in Dehradun,” said celebrity actor Siddhant Chaturvedi as he inaugurated the store, India Retailing reported. “The SS24 collection is one of my personal favourites because of how it blends floral prints and other playful elements. Be it the iconic Mexico 66 sneakers or their chic ankle boots, this showcases Onitsuka Tiger’s ability to seamlessly merge their heritage with current fashion trends.”
Mall of Dehradun is run by Pacific Development Corporation Limited and opened its doors to shoppers this year. Onitsuka Tiger joins brands in the shopping centre including Bata, Forever New, Crocs, Birkenstock, Libas, Miniso, and Skechers among others, according to the mall’s website.
Onitsuka Shōkai launched Onitsuka Tiger as a sports footwear brand in Japan in 1949. The label is known for its mix of fashion and performance footwear and retails globally through offline and online sales channels. In 2017, the brand entered the Indian market and began operations by launching brick-and-mortar stores in Delhi and Mumbai. The label subsequently launched a dedicated e-commerce store for the country and today has a presence in numerous Indian metros.
