Fresh from the news they’re reuniting, Oasis is storming the charts 15 years after the band broke up.
Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher confirmed the Oasis reunion on Tuesday morning, following weeks of speculation.
Now, as fans revisit their favourite tracks ahead of 17 shows across the UK and Ireland next summer, both the band’s albums and singles are seeing a surge in popularity.
Three Oasis albums are in the top five in this week’s album chart, with Time Flies up to position three, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? up to four and Definitely Maybe in fifth spot.
With their debut album Definitely Maybe celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special edition this weekend, it’s being tipped to hit the top album spot next week.

Three of the band’s singles have also re-entered the top 20: Don’t Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall and Live Forever at positions 16, 17 and 19 respectively – the first time the band have ever had a trio of songs in the top 20 simultaneously.
Martin Talbot, chief executive officer at Official Charts, called the Gallagher brothers’ achievement “mind-blowing,” adding, “anyone who thought that their classic repertoire wouldn’t live forever will be having to eat their words today!”.
Oasis getting back together 33 years after their first gig and 15 years after the group came to an acrimonious end ahead of a gig in Paris, is one of the most hotly anticipated reunion tours of all time.
