Youth focused apparel brand Newme plans to scale up its 90 minute delivery offering to connect with shoppers looking for a quick fashion fix and has launched a pilot of the service in Bengaluru. The brand is also ameliorating its technology to drive design and vertically integrating its production.

“We saw patience levels dropping by the minute,” said Newme’s CEO and co-founder Sumit Jasoria about the rise of swift deliveries in the online fashion sector, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. “Thanks to quick commerce, people don’t plan purchases anymore.”

The business debuted its 90 minute delivery service last year in several pin codes and reported a strong response. After expanding the service across the Delhi National Capital Region, the business is now piloting 90 minute deliveries in Bengaluru and expects to see a similar response.

Newme uses data to track emerging trends and Gen Z preferences with proprietary technology to inform it which products will sell. The business is building its own model to take and analyse data to lead the design process and launch smaller collections frequently to stay plugged in to the latest trends, according to Jasoria. By updating its technological capacities and following a data driven approach, Newme is working with data scientists and engineers to inform the clothing it produces.

For manufacturing, Newme aims to achieve a full vertical integration to streamline its operations. With its own factory in Mumbai, the brand has also partnered with around 15 manufacturing units in the area and is harnessing data to minimise waste in its production activities.
