Womenswear brand NewMe plans to open 75 brick-and-mortar stores across India by the end of the 2026 financial year to connect with Gen Z shoppers offline. The direct to customer brand also aims to open 20 stores in the 2025 financial year, focusing on mall locations.

“We eye to have an outlet in all the premium malls of India,” NewMe’s co-founder Sumit Jasoria told ET Retail. “The idea is to have an offline presence in the top 20 cities. As per data, we see almost 35% to 40% of our business coming from the top 10 cities of India- Delhi/ NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Shillong, and Mizoram together in the northeast, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Surat- and we plan to go deeper into those cities first.”

NewMe’s stores have all been company owned and company operated so far. The business’ current average store size is between 3,000 and 4,000 square feet with a CAPEX of between Rs 2,500 and Rs 3,000 per square foot. By expanding offline, NewMe expects to see its brick-and-mortar revenue increase to 40% of its total sales.

“Modern day brands of India will be built phygitally, so being a digital first brand going offline was a natural extension of the brand,” said Jasoria. “Our stores give a sneak peek into the world of NewMe.”
