Mila Beauté is set to launch as a homegrown and affordable Indian makeup brand with products designed to cater specifically to desi skincare needs. The launch will affect a rebranding of established beauty label Milap Cosmetics.
“Imagine a world where beauty meets brilliance- exactly what my plan is all about,” announced Mila Beauté’s co-founder and managing director Saahil Nayar on Linkedin on July 21. “Presenting Mila Beauté, crafted with love in India for the Indian beauty. And guess what? With this partnership we are reaching every indian home very soon!”
Saahil Nayar was previously Swiss Beauty’s CEO and has extensive experience in the Indian beauty industry. The executive has worked for businesses including The Moms Co and Kama Ayurveda among others, according to his Linkedin page.
“We want to address the Indian consumer’s feeling of feeling luxurious, but within reach,” Nayar told ET Retail. “Thus, we will start for as low as Rs 100.”
Mila Beauté has launced as a rebrand of Milap Cosmetics, which has run since 1985 and has an established presence in Tier 3 and 4 markets. The business is run by entrepreneurial brothers Sachin Chadha and Keshav Chadha who are now company directors of Mila Beauté.
The brand’s products are made in India and follow global standards for quality control, according to its Facebook page. With the rebrand, the label aims to retail across key markets online and offline and reach a revenue target of Rs 100 crore in its first year of operations.
