Womenswear brand Madame has opened its sixth exclusive brand outlet in Northeast India and its first store in Nagaland. Located in Dimapur, the outlet retails a mixture of casual and party wear along with accessories.
“Northeast India has always been a significant market for us, given its vibrant fashion culture and discerning customer base,” said Madame’s executive director Akhil Jain in a press release. “The fashion-forward women of Nagaland have always impressed us with their unique sense of style. The opening of our first store in Nagaland is a step towards bringing our unique fashion collections closer to the people of the region and we are excited to become a part of their fashion journey. We look forward to fostering a strong connection with our customers in Dimapur and beyond.”
The store was inaugurated by Miss Universe 2024’s fourth runner up Ruopfuzhano Whiso, a celebrated local figure, who led a ribbon cutting ceremony. Situated on Dimapur’s Nyamo Lotha Road, the store adds to Madame’s Northeast India stores in Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, and Siliguri.
Madame was established in 1993 as a women’s western wear brand and today counts over 170 exclusive brand outlets spread across Tier 1 and 2 cities in India. The brand stepped into brick-and-mortar retail in the country in 2002 and also counts over 900 retail touch-points across the country while retailing online on a range of multi-brand e-commerce platforms including Myntra, Ajio, Flipkart, and Amazon India.
