Lydia Jett, a former managing partner at SoftBank, has joined the board of e-commerce giant Flipkart as an independent director, as filed by the business in Singapore.
This appointment will be the second term Jett serves on Flipkartās board of directors, ET Tech reported. The executive had previously joined Flipkartās board of directors to represent its investor SoftBank in 2017 but then stepped down when she left her hole as managing partner at SoftBank at the beginning of 2024.

Jett had led the e-commerce and consumer internet mandates at Japanese business SoftBank. Before Jett joined the board of directors of Flipkart, she spent a stint on the board of its rival business Snapdeal, ET Bureau reported.

Jett will join a number of senior executives at Flipkartās parent company Walmart on Flipkartās board as well as Flipkart Groupās chief executive officer Kalyan Krishnamurthy and HDFCās chief executive officer Keki Mistry. The business saw one of its co-founders Binny Bansal step down from the board in January this year. Bansal was the last of Flipkartās co-founders to leave the board as he pursues other entrepreneurial ventures.

Along with her spot on Flipkartās board of directors, Jett also has a place on the boards of businesses including South Koreaās Coupang and Russiaās Ozon. As Flipkart continues to evaluate launching an initial public offering, the business has rejigged its management to focus on profitability.
