French sports and casual wear brand Lacoste has opened an exclusive brand outlet in Bengaluru. Located in Phoenix Mall of Asia in Hebbal, the new store adds to the brand’s brick-and-mortar presence in Karnataka.
“Another addition to the Garden City Bengaluru…Mall of Asia now open,” wrote Lacoste India’s COO Abhishek Raj on Linkedin, sharing photos of the store’s open façade and vibrant interior.
The store has a large segment dedicated to its signature men’s polo shirt featuring stacks of the garment in a wide range of bright hues. The store also houses men’s and women’s sports and casual wear as well as footwear and accessories.
In September this year, Lacoste announced plans to ramp up its brick-and-mortar expansion strategy in the Indian market. After opening around 40 stores over three decades, the brand now plans to launch a further 50 exclusive brand outlets in India in the coming five years to reach more shoppers and bolster brand visibility in the country.
Lacoste has retailed in India since 1993 and runs a direct to customer e-commerce store dedicated to the Indian market. The brand is known for its crocodile logo polo shirts and tennis wear and was launched in 1933 by French Tennis player Rene Lacoste and co-founder Andre Gillier. The brand today retails in 98 countries worldwide with over 1,000 stores and more than 15,000 points of sale.
