After showcasing her collections in New York, US, eponymous designer Kanika Goyal made her runway debut in London during the British capital’s recent fashion week, Miss Maltese announced on Facebook. The collection is inspired by human memories and how past and future experiences interlink. Models wore ensembles with bold cutouts and tactile details for a modern, eclectic style.

“We wanted to expand our global presence and explore new markets, thus the move to London felt right for this season,” Goyal told Elle India. “While both, London and New York are influential fashion capitals, they differentiate themselves through their cultural influences, market positioning, and fashion infrastructure. London is often associated with creativity and experimentation, while New York is known for its commercial appeal, diversity, and global influence.”

Goyal played with proportions and gave jackets exaggerated shoulders and loose-fitting silhouettes. The designer repurposed scrap denim by loosely weaving together strips to create statement trousers and used scrap leather to craft jackets and accessories.

Kanika Goyal launched her eponymous brand in 2014 after graduating from Parsons and working with brands including Adidas and Prada. The label is based in India and has been worn by Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra Jonas among other celebrities.
