Personal care and beauty business Honasa Consumer has acquired cosmetic formulation maker CosmoGenesis Labs for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is designed to help Honasa Consumer to boost its ability to research trends and create new products for its brands including Mamaearth.
“It helps lay foundational setting for transformative growth and innovation in profound ways,” said Honasa Consumer co-founder and CIO Ghazal Alagh, India Retailing reported. “This acquisition empowers us to tap into new sub-categories, leverage cutting-edge research and development, and ultimately, deliver exceptional value to our consumers.”
CosmoGenesis has extensive experience in organic and natural personal care and beauty formulations, according to its website. The business’ skincare goods are vegan and cruelty free and include creams, cleansers, and serums among others.

Honasa Consumer owns a range of fast moving consumer goods brands including Mamaearth, Ayuga, Aqualogica, Bblunt, and The Derma Co among others, according to its website. Honasa Consumer launched its initial public offering in 2023 and has also begun to launch multi-brand brick-and-mortar stores for its labels.
