Hindustan Unilever appoints Vivek Mittal as executive director legal, corporate affairs (#1685720)

Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Vivek Mittal to its management committee as executive director of legal and corporate affairs.

Mittal will commence his new role in March 2025, replacing Dev Bajpai, who had announced his early retirement in October this year.

Mittal joins HUL from Dr Reddy’s Laboratories where he currently serves as global general counsel managing legal, ethics, compliance, and data privacy risks for the company.

Commenting on the appointment, Rohit Jawa, CEO managing director of HUL in a statement said, “Vivek Mittal has a proven track record of handling high-stakes legal matters while maintaining a strong commitment to ethics and compliance. His contributions have been instrumental in driving strategic initiatives and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance across industries.”

“I am confident that he will take the HUL legal function to its next phase of growth and transformation,” he added.

Vivek Mittal has over 25 years of experience in building legal teams across industries. He has worked with companies like Danaher Corporation, Lupin, Reliance, Radico Khaitan, Indiabulls Group, Caparo India Operations, and Mount Shivalik Industries.
