Many people have at some point considered how they might want to make history.
They may want into enter politics to change the world, set up a charity to help others, or reach the pinnacle of their chosen sport.
Or they might decide to grow the world’s biggest ever afro or do the most amount of standing jumps on the back of a horse.
Either way there’s room in this world for everyone, and nothing proves that quite like the book of Guinness World Records.
Here we take a look at some of the most impressive feats that will appear in the 2024 edition.
Flipping incredible
Mia Peterson, 16, from California, has broken the record for the most-people “barani-flipped” over from a quarter pipe on roller skates.
She managed to make it over 12 people before landing in the record books.
For those of you not clued up on your stunt-skating, a barani flip is an aerial manoeuvre consisting of a front flip and a 180 degree turn.
Juggling his way to the top
Another teenager keeping themselves out of trouble by chasing world records is 15-year-old Simeon Graham.
The teenager from Birmingham has actually broken three records – managing to achieve the most juggling catches in one minute with five, six and seven objects.
Un-bear-lievable!
When is the right age to stop collecting teddy bears? Some might say your early teens or your mid-teens at a push.
Try telling that to Nicolas Cherrywood from the US – who in his late 20s has the largest collection of Care Bears in the world.
His 1,234 cuddly companions are reported to be worth over £100,000.
Anyone in need of an afro-disiac?
Amir Menendez is only 14 years old, but has grown what Guinness World Records say is the world’s largest afro for a male.
His impressive head of hair is 19.67cm high (7.74ins), 24.83cm wide (9.77ins) and has a circumference of 226cm (88ins).
The joker in the pack
Not content with playing poker, bridge or solitaire – Chinese record-breaker Tian Rui has used the hand he was dealt to build the world’s tallest house of cards in one hour.
His 27-storey house of cards was 7ft 4inches tall (2.17m).
Mr Rui has also broken the record for the tallest house of cards built in 12 hours (pictured below) – which had a total of 50 storeys and a height of just over 11ft (3.37m).
Got a light?
Grace Good from the USA holds the record for the most fire hoops spun simultaneously – with no fewer than eight.
In need of some space
The United Arab Emirates has hosted the largest ever gathering of people dressed as astronauts – with 940 people taking one giant leap into the record books.
Doing it for the kicks
Don’t mess with Ginny MacColl, from the US, who at 73 years old is the world’s oldest competitive female “ninja athlete”.
Ms MacColl appeared on the 2023 series American Ninja Warrior – where competitors tackle obstacle courses across various US cities.
Give us a steer
Tommy, a 13-year-old pure-bred Brown Swiss, is the world’s tallest steer at 6ft 1in (1.87m).
A steer is an animal which is born as a bull calf, and if left intact becomes a bull. However, if it’s castrated it becomes a steer before growing into an ox.

Pushing boundaries
Tom Enoch, who has Down’s syndrome, holds 24 fitness related Guinness World Records under the publication’s impairment classifications.
His latest is the record for the most push-up burpees in one-minute – having completed 16.
The exercise is a push-up followed by a leap in the air.
Riding high
Amanda Staalsoe from Denmark has achieved the most jumps on horseback in 30 seconds – managing to complete 13.

Impressive hair
Sidakdeep Chala, 15, has entered the book of Guinness World Records for the longest hair on a teenager.
His hair is 4ft 3ins long (130cm).
Football crazy
Anyone who watches the Premier League will tell you Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been breaking records left, right and centre.
But the Norwegian goal machine will have to put in a few more hours practise if he wants to beat the record set by Melody Donchet.
The French maestro has set the female record for the most touches of a football with her soles in one minute – with 227 touches.
Breaking records with records
Dave Watson from the Dunstable in the UK has the largest collection of number one singles – with 1,258 chart-toppers.
Going in blind
Ryusei Ouchi from Japan has achieved the most skateboard ollies in one minute blindfolded.
He manage to complete 33 jumps to land in the record books.
