GJEPC promotes quality assurance in Surat, MSMEs in Ujjain

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council brought together over 100 jewellers in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh to promote small businesses in the jewellery sector. The traders’ body also collaborated with the Quality Council of India and Surat Jewellery Manufacturers Association to promote quality standards at its event in Surat. 

In Ujjain, the GJEPC held a one day seminar focused on micro, small, and medium enterprises in partnership with the Sarafa Association, the Silver Gold Merchant Associations of Lakherwadi and Patni Bazaar, and the the Nayapura Association, the organisation announced on its website. The event was inaugurated by the Ujjain Municipal Corporation’s chairperson Kalavati Yadav and BJP president Sanjay Agarwal, who both highlighted the role of exports in economic growth. Both dignitaries affirmed their commitment to supporting development and export initiatives for Madhya Pradesh’s gem and jewellery sector to help contribute to growth in the state. 

At the Ujjain event, the GJEPC disseminated information on its own schemes to boost MAME exports in India’s jewellery industry. The traders’ body also promoted its upcoming trade shows, international visits, and the PM Vishwakarma scheme.

The GJEPC’s Surat Regional Office held a ‘QCI Quality Journey with GJEPC’ event at the city’s Hilton Garden Hotel which saw over 130 industry participants take part in discussions on quality standards advancements and certifications to help the industry to succeed in international markets.  The GJEPC’s assistant director for Surat Rajat Wani shared knowledge on trade education, e-commerce promotion, Common Facility Centre projects, and industry support measures available to jewellery businesses.
