Gemological Science International launches Gemological Laboratory in Indore

Global gemological organisation the Gemological Science International has opened a satellite laboratory in Indore. The facility measures 1,200 square feet and is designed to enable the organisation to connect with Madhya Pradesh’s jewellery industry. 

“The rise in customer demand for customised jewellery has spurred a shift toward local manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh, reducing reliance on sourcing from Mumbai, Surat, and Jaipur,” said Gemological Science International India’s managing director Ramit Kapur, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website.  “With this shift comes the critical need for accurate certification and quality assurance. GSI’s Indore lab offers same-day gemological services with unmatched turnaround times, empowering jewellers to meet market demands efficiently while ensuring consumer trust. 

The facility was inaugurated on January 24 and now offers same-day certification services for jewellery, diamonds, and gemstones. “Our global expertise, combined with cutting-edge technology, streamlines the certification process, transforming how jewellery businesses operate in Madhya Pradesh,” said Kapur. 

The lab’s local certification services will help to increase transparency and quality assurance in the state’s jewellery industry, according to Gemological Science International. Some of the lab’s facilites were not previously available in Madhya Pradesh and the unit will host workshops for jewellery retailers.
