Flipkart appoints Prathyusha Agarwal as vice president, Shopsy head

E-commerce giant Flipkart’s value focused e-commerce platform Shopsy has appointed Prathyusha Agarwal as its new business head. Agarwal will also take on the role of vice president at Flipkart.

Following a number of changes to its senior management, Flipkart has a new head for its growing platform Shopsy, The Arc reported. Shopsy was previously headed by Flipkart’s senior vice president Adarsh Menon who moved on from Flipkart to take up the role of global president of Zoomcar in 2023.
 
Agarwal has previously worked as chief business officer at education technology business Byju, the Economic Times reported. The executive has also worked for businesses including Tata Cliq, Zee Entertainment, and Unilever, according to her Linkedin page.
 
Flipkart’s Shopsy is designed to compete with other low priced fashion and lifestyle marketplaces including Meesho. The online platform went live in 2021 and focuses on unbranded goods.
 
Retailing through its mobile app, Shopsy offering over 10 lakh products priced at under Rs 99, according to its website. The platform features more than 15 crore listings and has numerous products priced under Rs 45.
 
The app offers delivery in seven working days and works with over one lakh suppliers. As e-commerce penetrates deeper into rural India, Shopsy caters to value oriented shoppers looking for accessible ways to access online shopping.
