“Fila’s new drops are a perfect homage to its birthplace, Biella, Italy- a hub where Italian craftsmanship meets art and creativity,” said Metro Brands Limited’s president Alisha Malik in a press release. “This legacy shines through in every Fila product, where style and heritage seamlessly blend with comfort. With the introduction of Fila’s global ‘Bellissimo’ vision to India, this new collection marks the start of infusing Italian-inspired fashion into the world of sneakers in India.”

The sneaker collection is inspired by the bold and comfort-driven styles of the 1980s and 1990s, for both men and women. The line features the ‘RI-TSS Series’ of sneakers which includes the RI-TSS BALLAD and RI-TSS HIGH III models, made from a mix of mesh, suede, and textured leather. The shoes’ puffy and padded look is designed to be both eye-catching and easy to wear.

The Bellissimo collection also features the Envi Victori and Envi Halli sneaker models for women with materials including textured PU and mesh and double lacing details. The line also brings the tennis inspired ‘Offcourt Series’ and trekking suitable ‘Outdoor Sneakers Series’ among others.

Launched in Biella, Italy in 1911, Fila has a long history with tennis among other sports. The brand retails in India with Metro Brands Limited, which also holds rights to brands including Crocs, Fitflop, and Birkenstock, the Indian Express reported.
