Fashion Tech Week launches in Dhaka, to return to Bengaluru

From May 15 to 16, industry event Fashion Tech Week held its first Bangladesh edition in Dhaka at the Radisson Blu. The summit will next hold its second India edition in Bengaluru from May 30 to 31 at ITC Gardenia.

Exhibitors and visitors gathered in Dhaka to discuss the tech driven apparel industry and pursue business opportunities, Fashion Tech Week announced on Facebook. The event was powered by ready made apparel manufacturing business Clo Virtual Fashion and also saw participation from businesses including R-Pac, Tukatech, Pakiza Software Limited, Sizifi, Jaza Software, BlueKaktus, and Logic Software Limited among others.
 
“Our industry needs more such events as technology is the key to grow and companies at FTW were really having cutting edge technology,” said Dhaka based apparel business Yellow Retail’s executive director Shehryar Burney about the event, Apparel Resources reported.
 
The event featured panel discussions on topics including merchandising, sustainability, and production among others. A variety of technology was on display ranging from trend forecasting to 3D cutting and smart textiles robotics.
 
“Visitors were keen to see our cutting-edge technology, there are lot of grey areas in apparel manufacturing where we can help the industry and solve their pain points, make their businesses faster, easier and more profitable,” said Clo Virtual Fashion’s business development manager Harsh Kumar. “FTW proved a good platform to connect with tech suppliers and companies like us.”

For its upcoming edition in Bengaluru, Fashion Tech Week aims to draw a similar crowd of industry players. The event held its first India edition on May 4, 2023 which featured over 40 exhibitors.
