“The Bhawna Sharma x Ekaya collection is for all the girls who love adding that extra touch of drama into their looks,” announced Ekaya on Facebook. “Think bold prints, nautical stripes, and pops of florals. Add a belt, cinch that waist, and most importantly- have fun with the drape!”

The Bhawna Sharma X Ekaya collection takes classic western wear prints such as houndstooth check, stripes, and polka dots and reimagines them in the brand’s signature sarees and other structured garments. Patterns are layered over each other or reworked in bright hues to create a fresh take on classic aesthetics. Notable textiles include a magenta and gold houndstooth check brocade and a check fabric with oversized polka dots printed over the top.

The collection has launched on the label’s direct to customer e-commerce store and in its flagship stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad. The collection is priced from Rs 20,975 to Rs 58,975 and has a colour palette ranging from bright reds and pinks to blacks and neutral toned greys.

Ekaya describes itself as India’s “first handloom luxury brand,” according to its website. The label works with a community of over 10,000 weavers and has collaborated with a number of creatives including Kunal Rawal, Anu Merton, and Aulerth Opaline.
