Occasion wear designer Dolly J celebrated classic desi femininity with a fairytale inspired collection titled ‘La Vie En Rose’ on the runway at Hyundai India Couture Week. The show was an ode to contemporary craftsmanship with a flurry of soft hues.
Dolly J’s latest traditional and fusion wear collection made its runway debut at the weekend with fine jewellery partner Shailjas Natural Diamonds, Hyundai India announced on Facebook. The fashion show was an ethereal take on classic occasion wear with lehengas, shararas, and gowns floating down the baby pink runway.
Fabric was light and draped, with maxi skirts contrasted by structured bodice tops. The collection focused on textiles including chiffon, tulle, and silk organza adorned with sparkling beaded details and tactile appliqués.
Models walked the ramp in soft glam makeup and classic up dos to highlight the details of the ensembles. Bollywood celebrity Sonakshi Sinha walked the runway as Dolly J’s showstopper wearing a blush pink gown with a structured bodice and waterfall style sleeves, the brand announced on Facebook.
Hyundai India Couture Week runs in association with Reliance Brands from July 24 to 31 at the Taj Palace in New Delhi. The fashion week runs with the Fashion Design Council of India and also features designers including Amit Aggarwal, Isha Jajodia, Suneet Varma, Siddartha Tytler, and Kunal Rawal among others.
